Dee Thwaite
Dee's paintings aim to capture an emotional and energetic response to her surroundings. She feels a deep connection with the sea and hopes to capture a sense of movement and drama in her work.
"I love to paint expressive skies, storms and coastal landmarks. My work hopes to capture movement in the clouds and shifting light."

Dee studied Art A-level at school alongside music, and later a music degree, specialising in singing. She has often found music and art to be interlinked. Whilst raising her 3 children at home, She has come back to painting in recent years. This has reignited her passion for Art, and she now works from her home studio.

Dee often does quick sketches and mark making whilst on location. She uses these preliminary sketches to influence further works in her home studio.

Bold expressive marks are used embracing different lines and shapes of the landscape. Works are produced on canvas and mixed media paper, using acrylic, pastel, pencil and inks.
"Painting in itself has become such a healing and therapeutic part of my life and one of my greatest passions."
